Eastside Cities: SnoqualmiePerched on the banks of the Snoqualmie River, and in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, the city of Snoqualmie that was first incorporated as a logging community in 1903 has now become the fastest growing city in the state. Quaint craftsman-style homes, originally built by the Weyerhaeuser Company to house its employees, line the streets in the historic neighborhood and this craftsman style design element is being recreated in the new master-planned community of Snoqualmie Ridge. Features of this new neighborhood include a growing retail core, office park, schools, open spaces and 20 plus miles of trails, along with homes in the moderate-to-higher price ranges. The Snoqualmie Ridge Tournament Players Course, a Jack Nicklaus signature golf course, will continue to host the PGA Masters Tournament through 2012. New housing options, accessibility to Seattle and the Eastside, as well as a spectacular natural setting have attracted many new residents, tripling the city's population between 2000 and 2005. Snoqualmie Falls, Salish Lodge and the historic train depot are the main attractions in downtown. There is also a railcar refurbishment facility that breaths new life into historic relics. During August, the community celebrates Snoqualmie Railroad Days featuring a parade, arts & crafts, live music, food, and train rides. Median Sold Prices 2007: Homes $476,609; Condos $359,000 (Information obtained from NWMLS) To learn more about Snoqualmie, Washington visit their website: http://www.ci.snoqualmie.wa.us/ For information please visit the Snoqualmie Chamber of Commerce Website.
